Plot/Synopsis
Venu is a high profile news cameraman working in Reuters. He graduated from a premier film institute but preferred to shoot news rather than the manipulated visuals for movies. He is mostly based in Delhi but has come to Kochi to appear for a case in which he happened to involve. He is assigned to cover a sex scandal involving a local politician where he gets to meets Renuka . Renuka is the executive editor of Bharath Vision and Venu and Renuka have a story to tell of their own. We go into a flashback to know the story about how two lovers turned into foes; an eventful story which involves misunderstandings, blackmail, and double crossing. Rishikesh is another channel head NBI (News Bureau of India)), who is going through some difficult times, as some of his star performers have gone in search of greener pastures. Venu and Renuka come together to investigate a particular story about a murder planned by Bharathan Pillai, a major politician who had lost his fame and name before many years when Venu and Renuka exposed a scam involving him. How Bharathan Pillai uses a decoy to trap Venu and Renuka and how they find a way to escape form the crux of the story.

Naalu Pennungal (Four Women) is a critically acclaimed Malayalam film produced and directed by Indian Master Director Adoor Gopalakrishnan based on four short stories. written by famous Malayalam writer Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai. It is the story of four women from Kuttanad in Alappuzha district in Kerala. The stories are set in the years between 1940s to the 1960s. The movie chronicles a journey of womanhood across assorted backdrops with a classic amalgamation of source matters and techniques that splendidly spans times and frames. The movie has four distinct parts – Story of an illegal affair, The Virgin, Chinnu Amma, Always a Virgin – each adapted from separate short stories. Each of the parts narrates the stories of women from different strata of the society- The prostitute, The Virgin, The housewife & The Spinster. Though the stories are not explicitly connected in narration, a pattern emerges in the flow of the movie – both in the chronological setting and the stature of the women.The film was premiered in the masters section of the Toronto International Film Festival in September, 2007. The film has so far been screened at more than twenty festivals. Adoor Gopalakrishnan won the National Film Award for Best Direction for the film.

This film, set in the backdrop of criminal gangs of varied varieties in Kerala, tells the story of young Hari aka Lalu, who rises from an illicit sand miner to a smuggling baron in a short time. Lalu is a reckless youth who is willing to do anything for money, even if it means getting involved in the drugs business and murder. It’s a story of crime, betrayal, love, relationships, humour and life. Up on release the movie received positive reviews from viewers as well as critics. The film ran successfully for 100 days in Kerala. Overall, ‘Second show ‘ though with its share of little negatives, is an honest effort that deserves to be encouraged.

Debutant director Vysakh presents in ‘Pokkiri Raja’ nothing less that ‘double bonanza’ for lovers of mainstream Malayalam Cinema. Bringing together Mammootty and Prithviraj in equally important roles, he strives to successfully appease and satiate die-hard fans of both these actors in a film that’s colourful, entertaining and above all, loud.
‘Pokkiri Raja’ is the story of two brothers, Raja and Surya, the sons of Madhavan Nair, a teacher with a very good reputation. But family feud, especially between Madhavan Nair’s Kunnathu family and the rival Puthiyara family, leads to some unexpected developments and Raja gets arrested for murder, of course one that he did not commit.
This and subsequent developments lead to the straining of relationships between Madhavan Nair and Raja, who then leaves home (after serving his term at the juvenile home) and reaches Madurai, where he becomes a ‘goonda’. He grows up to become ‘Pokkiri’ Raja, a goonda with his own way. In the meantime Surya also grows up as a tough guy. Madhavan Nair fears that Surya too may follow Raja’s path and become a goonda. Hence he sends Surya to Ernakulam, to stay with Surya’s sister Rugmini and brother-in-law Sugunan, who is a sub-inspector. Surya lands in trouble after he falls in love with Ashwathi, who is the daughter of City Police Commissioner Rajendra Babu. It’s then that Pokkiri Raja turns up and things take a new turn.
All in all, Pokkiriraja is a full-length entertainer.

Arya 2 is a 2009 Telugu romance film directed by Sukumar, and is a follow-up to the allu Arjun’s and the director’s previous successful film, Arya. The film was dubbed in Malayalam with same title and became blockbuster in Kerala.
The first scene of the film shows Arya being carried into an operation theatre. His friend Ajay narrates how Arya changed his life. In their childhood, Arya stays in an orphanage where have no friends or family. By force, he befriends Ajay who also is in that orphanage. One day, Ajay is adopted by a rich family and leaves the orphanage behind him. As time passes, he becomes a big shot business tycoon and has his own software company. but Arya becomes a drunkard and he can do anything for ajay. Ajay feels ashamed to say that Arya is his friend and avoids him. But Arya convinces him that he would be a good boy if he’ given a job in Ajay’s company. Die hard friend Arya just wanted to stay close to Ajay. But Ajay has one condition that if Arya is proven as a “bad boy” in the office, he has to leave the company. Thus, Arya converts himself into a ” Mr. Perfect” without any defect and joins in the company. Everyone in the company are fond of Arya especially Shanti who is madly in love with him. One day Geetha joins the company and Ajay and Arya both immediately fall in love with her. Arya is now Geetha’s Team Lead. In a lift one day, while Geetha converses with Arya, suddenly he kisses her. In many other instances also, Arya keeps confessing his love to Geetha without anyone knowing about it. Ajay now wants to get rid of Arya. So, he crashes his own (Ajay’s) car and weaves a story that Arya has crashed him. He did so, so that everyone would accuse Arya and he would be fired. At this juncture, Geetha comes to know that Ajay too loves her.
